Money and Ideas don’t go Hand in Hand…

Remember, we're not pundits; but we seem to run across many individuals and organizations with a less mature perspective of how the terms "proof of concept" and money, and ideas, work together. The first thing we would say is that money and ideas do not go hand in hand, they are merely decisions (or a means to an end if you're going to risk it all in the first place). That's it, really. The idea and a "proof of concept" are a marriage that exist because it tells you if you can (A) Invest and (B) Continue to develop the idea/concept into something greater.

If you think of any scenario where this isn't the case then you'd think of Hollywood or some small publishers who can still gamble in the current economic conditions, but outside of that, more people are trying to be certain rather than alternative. We're not vested in money or any of that from the creative aspect at any time, but that doesn't mean we are willing to continue on with all things if they can't generate interest (let alone sales). Working hard is all there is for anything in life that requires "work". Many people still fall into valuating everything on sweat equity and the like, but that's not smart.

If we had a dime for every time someone through money at a portion or problem of their marketing, we'd be richer and they'd be shorter. A fact of life is knowing what you're willing to do and not do, so again, all of this typed out here can be attributed to "a decision" (unless you're Hollywood, who don't usually get it right but will still throw money at the concept, regardless). They've won that gamble many times mind you, but can you win yours? Well, gambling is just that, gambling. But there is a place where you have something that you do well and perhaps, only you are the best at it.

Guess you better find out if you actually are working as hard as you can, and then we guess you should figure out if the decisions you've made or are going to make are "sensible" to what you put in and what you've got thus far.

Maybe you disagree?

As much as I try to disagree, this does make sense, and that’s with you only saying that you run across this, but the more I keep telling peeps to get off MySpace or whatever, the more I know that I’m speaking for myself, not them. Great post!

I think that’s what they’re getting at, be “sure” and be “free”.
